Certified Public Accountant--CPA

The first tax professional article I brought you summarized Enrolled Agents, this one will
briefly summarize the role of a Certified Public Accountant or CPA as they are also called.

CPA's are licensed tax professionals who work in industry, government, and education. Most have college degrees.

CPA's are required to do a minimum number of accounting audits and pass a rigorous tax
or certified public accounting exam to become licensed.

Because of the hourly rate of a CPA (sometimes hundred's of dollars an hour), and the nature of their business, CPA's are best suited for mid to large size businesses and high-income individuals.

CPA's, just like Enrolled Agents and tax attorneys can represent you before the Internal Revenue Service.

Bare in mind that this is only a brief summary of a Certified Public Accountants duties, their duties are wide and sometimes very complex.
